Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by. I feel so good now that I am officially on my maternity leave from my day job (I work as a graphic designer) and I get to be home with my kids. My mom came last Friday from Japan, and it is just so good to be around her. She has been helping me in the kitchen, she pulls weeds in our front yard every morning (our never ending project), and she plays piano in the afternoon. This waiting-for-the-baby game has officially started and he might come today, tomorrow, a week from now, or two weeks. Who knows? We just need to let nature decide on this one. In the meantime, the kids have been busy with everyday activities. I hope the transition on the day the baby enters this world will be easy for my boys. I told my 7 year old son last night, that when the baby comes, mommy and daddy will stay at the hospital for two nights while grandma takes care of them at home. He cried and told me that he will miss us too much and only one of us should stay at the hospital. We will see if that will happen.
Kids were pretending to sell all the goodies and toys so that they could make some money. They placed price tags on each item, and I was given $15 to spend. $3/candy seemed like a pretty steep price!
I should let them paint more often. And I should paint with them! It’s so much fun once they get started.
Kai is a good helper in the kitchen especially when we make cookies. This time we made one batch, and they were so good that we ate them all in one day! So the next day we made another batch. I figured these are much better than eating store bought sweets.
We are so lucky to have a big field and a jungle across from our house. I enjoyed these yellow flowers the entire spring season. Now they all turned brown (so sad).
This child LOVES cereal. I don’t like to buy sugary ones but just this one time I somehow did! I think I have to blame it on my pregnant brain. At least he thinks it has lots of fruit. ย
If anyone knows how to make beds, it’s this kid. He takes his time, but he gets it done (well, with a price tag for mama). I think 10 cents for bed making is a cheap way to train a kid!
We decided to have a beach day. It was our first time this season, and perhaps it may not happen for a little while. The weather has been great and I was feeling pretty light. We live so close to the beach yet we don’t go there enough. The water was so crisp and gentle. The sound of waves was just so soothing for my baby inside my tummy.
My mom and her piano practice. Look at her hand written notes all over her notes! She’s been practicing this song for over a year now. Very impressive mom!
Thank you for checking in. I hope to have some photos of our newborn baby on my next month’s blog…
Wow – what a month you guys had! Those poppies – don’t you just love San Diego in Spring? And what a special treat to have your mom there for you now! Love this collection.
I love your project! So many great moments!
I need to show this to my daughter so she knows how to play grocery store ๐ and how to make her bed!
That image of your mom is so amazing!
What a fun project! Love that you included your mom playing the piano in the photos. Reminds me a lot of my mother as well. I look forward to seeing more from your Project 365
