Meet baby Shiloh, 2 weeks new!
This was a very special newborn portrait session for my old colleague and a friend.
At two weeks old, baby is feeding technically every 2 hours or less. It is amazing how mama’s milk and skin-to-skin snuggle time can fix all the problems in the world. ? At a newborn session, we take as many nursing breaks as we need. I have no schedule for my shot list so I follow baby’s lead. Babies feel safe and warm when held close to skin and that is the image I want to capture.
To all the moms who just gave birth, it can be a daunting idea to get up, shower and brush your hair and put your dress on for a newborn session. I remember feeling exhausted everyday and was nowhere near feeling pretty enough for a photo. So I didn’t do a newborn session with any of my 3 kids and I have no decent photo of me and my newborn babies at that time. Now I wish I had hired a photographer. (I have some bad iphone selfie photos of course). So please be in the photograph with your newborn baby and hire a professional! You know that iPhone photos that your husband takes are no comparison. ?
We created a beautiful heirloom album for baby Shiloh’s newborn session combined with images from their maternity session. I cannot wait to share the album with you! It has a peach leather cover with a gold foil embossing.
