For those who may be new here, I’m Kaori! I’m orig For those who may be new here, I’m Kaori! I’m originally from Japan and have called San Diego home for over 25 years. 🇯🇵☀️ Before I picked up a camera professionally, I was a graphic designer. I worked at design agencies in both Tokyo and San Diego, and I think that background still influences the way I see photography today—I’m always looking for beautiful light, composition, color, and the little details that make an image feel special. When I’m not taking pictures, you’ll usually find me cooking for my family, practicing yoga, or playing pickleball. I recently picked up pickleball and, let’s just say… I’m a little obsessed. 😂🏓 I have three beautiful boys and a wonderful husband who keep me grounded, keep me laughing, and remind me that life moves way too quickly. ❤️ And when I finally retire? I have a very specific dream: a little piece of land with a cow and some chickens so I can make as much fresh mozzarella and collect as many fresh eggs as my heart desires. 🐄🐔🧀🥚 I’m so grateful for this life, this family, this community, and the opportunity to do what I love for a living. This photowalk was one of my most challenging and This photowalk was one of my most challenging and uncomfortable yet educational one. 😬 The theme was motion blur portraits. We were trying to get the motion blur in the background but freeze the subjects. We also moved with the subjects so you get the blur in the background as well as the subject….artistic kind of a blur. 🥴 Overall I shot a lot of super bad images and came out with just a handful of cool ones! Ha! These I think turned out pretty cool!! What do you think? Thank you to the gorgeous model @zoekbirdsong and @chrisdowdallcolorsphotography for organizing!

We posed each other and it’s so interesting to stand on the other side! I couldn’t do some of the poses (it was very uncomfortable) 🥴 and good thing we had other poses to move onto. 😆 As a photographer we are always pushing ourselves to try a new pose or new movement to get the best expression or more variety. So excited for the outcome!
